handprint-wreath-kids

There used to be so many of my fingerprints to see,
on the furniture and walls and things from grubby sticky me
but if you stop and think a while you'll see I'm growing fast
those little handprints disappear you cant bring back the past,
so heres a small reminder to keep not wipe away,
of tiny hands and how they looked to make you smile one day

Life in Rotherham land

by Teri_R @ 19. Mar. 2008. - 07:53:22

Well in the wider part of Rotherham land it looks like once again our Footie team are in the shit. I have my own opinion on the way the club has been run in the last two years, not in footie terms (ain't a clue) But in business terms.  can't write her, might get sued or somefink!

In closer terms, Abi and the tots, despite the hundreds of miles between them, have come down with the same tummy bug  Abi's school is breaking up a day early so today would have been her last day, the school is closed tomorrow for the funeral of the boy killed last week. A sad day for the school and the village. OH.....and guess what? My "little" girl has landed herself with 2 detentions and a week on report  She's now banned from the PC and the phone,

Sad news in blogland of the death of someones child, I can't even begin to guess how bad that person is feeling, but as usual the support is immense (still trying to figure when we dropped off each others friends list)

I finish work tomorrow, and those of you who saw the "criminal damage" vid will be interested to know I will be working on THAT estate come April EEEeeeeeepppppp

Mum and dad are back on an even keel for now.

Love n Light to all

How fragile life is......

by Teri_R @ 11. Mar. 2008. - 19:12:30

....as a mother, like other mothers we send our kids off to school, at the end of the day they come home. We nag them about homework, nag them to get off the PC,X-Box,phone and generally after a long working day are no doubt, at times a little impatient.

One set of parents of a boy at my daughters school will be wishing they were tonight, on his way to school, within yards of the school gates he was hit by a coach. He died later....................he was 16

His name hasn't been released but of course all the school know, Abi saw him laying in the road as she arrived for school, the ambulance was just arriving. She cried all the way home, as the gates to the school are covered with flowers. She didn't know him, but I bet she's not the only child shaken by this.

My thoughts go out to his family.......

This is stuck in my head!

I don't mind though, I likes it

Barnsley went and done it!

WooooHoooo!!!!

and Lee managed to watch the match till the end before getting a call-out!

Blown up by Beko and them not giving a shit!

by Teri_R @ 06. Mar. 2008. - 19:51:37

My grandson, the lovely Oskar has a hobby! He loves to watch the washing machine so much so that some days the washing never finishes, he restarts it if it does :))

Today Ami and the tots were in the lounge when she heard a loud bang, she went off the investigate and the door to the washer was on the landing. It had blown off and 4 5 foot across the kitchen.

She calls Argos.

"As the washer is 13 months old she needed to call Beko, was no longer in guarantee"

She calls Beko

"As she hadn't taken out extended warantee they weren't going to get involved, but eventually they agreed to send an engineer "sometime"

She's called trading standards!

Had my grandchildren been hurt, Beko would be in hiding now!!!

Smart answers

6th Place

It was mealtime during a flight on a British Airways plane:

"Would you like dinner?" the flight attendant asked the man seated in
the front row.

"What are my choices?" the man asked.

"Yes or no," she replied.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--

5th Place

A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check
tickets.

As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he
opened his trench coat and flashed her.

Without blinking an eyelid she said,

"Sir, I need to see your ticket not your stub."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

4th Place

A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at a branch of
Sainsbury's but she couldn't find one big enough for her family.

She asked a passing assistant, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?"

The assistant replied, " I'm afraid not, they're dead."

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--

3rd Place

The policeman got out of his car and approached the boy racer he
stopped for speeding.

"I've been waiting for you all day," the bobby said.

The kid replied, "Yes, well I got here as fast as I could."

When the policeman finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his
way without a ticket.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--

2nd Place

A lorry driver was driving along on a country road.

A sign came up that read " Low Bridge Ahead."

Before he realised it, the bridge was directly ahead and he got stuck
under it.

Cars are backed up for miles.

Finally, a police car comes up.

The policeman got out of his car and walked to the lorry's cab

And said to the driver,

"Got stuck, eh?"

The lorry driver said, "No, I was delivering this bridge and ran out
of petrol!"

SMART ARSED ANSWER OF THE YEAR

A teacher at a polytechnic college reminded her pupils of tomorrow's
final exam.

"Now listen to me, I won't tolerate any excuses for you not being here
tomorrow.

I might consider a nuclear attack or a serious personal injury,
illness, or a death in your immediate family, but that's it, no other
excuses whatsoever!"

A smart-arsed guy at the back of the room raised his hand and asked,
"What would happen if I came in tomorrow suffering from complete and
utter sexual exhaustion?"

The entire class was reduced to laughter and sniggering.

When silence was restored, the teacher smiled knowingly at the
student, shook her head and sweetly said,

"Well, I suppose you'd have to write with your other hand".

Where to start.....

by Teri_R @ 04. Mar. 2008. - 22:08:40

..... to whoever I lost off my friends list while I was gone.

Life is, as usual mad in the Rotherham household. My laptop has been on a trip to Germany and back and is now working without the need of a paperback under the power cable :)

Work is mad, I was moved to a different area, only for the numptee who took over to take two weeks to undo all my hard work. So I'm back and have spent the last week acting like a headless chicken sorting out the shit mess.

On Friday my mum, whose health has been bad for a while was taken into hospital with breathing problems. So the weekend has been a blur of hopsital visits and making sure dad is ok. Hopefully she will be home on Thursday but has been diagnosed with COPD, which will hopefully scare her into quitting the fags

Tonight we attended a musical "soiree" at school in which Abi sang with another 4 girls. It was a great evening, very informal and the music ranged from classical piano to electric guitar.

Abi had her review today and her effort grade is up from 170 to 105 this term (measured out of the year...i.e 1 out of 350 is top, and 350 out of 350 bottom) This is measured purely on effort put in and not academic ability. Combined with Abi being put in for GCSE French next year has made me one proud mummy (she'll be 13) :)

Hope you are all well, excuse typos...............
