What a great day, the sun has shined all day and (hopefully) summer is here to stay.
We picked dad up from hospital today, and as the sun was shining we had the top down on the car...BIG MISTAKE ! My hair that, in my opinion, looked very nice when we set off, looked like a bird's nest after Lee had frapped* down the M1.
Dad was well impressed that we had "the lid off the car" when we collected him from hospital, as he had bragged to his ward mates about the car. He loved the drive home, though I have to say I was a little embarassed when we were sat alongside a TVR Tuscan at the lights and my dad yelled "Our car's better than yours"

The chemo doctor told dad this wasn't his last course of chemo before the scan, and he was, in fact, having four more. He had been misinformed and because of his health she wasn't using agressive chemo so the course was longer. Dad was disapointed but is going to continue. I think the people on the ward thanking him for keeping them laughing, and one requesting to be in at the same time as my dad in two weeks, has helped. Good news is, his liver is still working 100% and he is maintaining his weight.

Lee is on his two days off, so hopefully tomorrow, we may take a drive to the coast.

I met one of the managers from work today (I refused to meet the witch!) and had my exit interview, in which I was brutaly honest

She arrived with a gift bag, from the witch! Initial thoughts were to say "take it back and tell her to shove it up her arse" BUT it was a nice Orchid in a lovely pot and I thought, f*ck it, I'll have it!

Had an interview for a position as Marketing Project Manager for a company yesterday, was a lovely place in a beautiful old building and I really would like the job. One of the decision makers is on holiday until next Monday, so I got an email last night saying they would get back to me then. I'm hoping that's a good sign, if I was crap it would have been a no.

Dad is in hospital for his second dose of Chemo, as usual he is in tip top condition and making friends with all the people on the ward, whether they want to or not.

Within 2 weeks he'll have a scan and will know if the tumour is responding to treatment and he has asked the consultant to be honest. If the chemo isn't working, he wants to be left alone to enjoy his life. Hard to hear, he's my dad, but at the end of the day it's his choice and if he chooses quality over quantity who are we to argue.

He reaches 80 years of age on 16th September. My baby bro will be 40 that same week so we have a party to plan.
