I keep losing friends

by Teri_R @ 30. Jul. 2007. - 21:08:43

I know I deleted one who was a freak and suggested I put my 12 year old into glamour modelling, but again today I have lost one

How strange....

Who have I pissed off today?

The only blog you should read tonight...

There's a reason women over 40 don't have kids...

by Teri_R @ 27. Jul. 2007. - 11:59:30

........They're too bloody knackering!

Ami and the tots extended the stay until Saturday and as enjoyable as it is I am knackered. I admire my daughter for how well she copes with two children under 2 years. NO WAY could I. The kids are great but hard work!!

I have my CV in with 2 companies. One is a management position and the recruiting manager is calling me today to arrange an interview. The other is team leader, for a brewery, I worked for the company as a call handler when Lee and I left pub management, so am hoping my application wasn't too late. Guess what......you get FREE BEER. A beer allowance of 5 cases, and as they brew Stella, Lee wouldn't care about the lower wage!

My inbox has been inundated with emails from shocked staff from my old job, and I have even had an email from a member of the senior management team, who is wanting to meet me for lunch and "chat"

Hope all is well with my friends in blogland!

My dad's chemo doctor said he can only drink in moderation!

by Teri_R @ 24. Jul. 2007. - 21:10:00

BBQ dad drinking in moderation

He's doing well, stayed at the BBQ from 2pm - 9.30pm when I drove him home. He went into the front dooor, peeked round the curtains to watch me leave and then sneaked off out to the club to see his mates :))

Soundtrack of my life....

Paul Weller - Brand New Start

I'm gonna clear out my head
I'm gonna get myself straight
I know it's never too late
To make a brand new start

I'm gonna kick down the door
I'm gonna get myself in
I'm gonna fix up the yard
And not fall back again

I'm gonna CLEAN up my earth
And build a heaven ON the ground
Not something distant or unfound
But something real to me
But something real to me

All that I can I can be
All that I am I CAN see
All that is mine is in my hands
So to myself I call

There's somewhere else I should be
There's someone else I CAN see
There's something more I can find
IT'S ONLY UP TO ME

I'm gonna clean up my earth
And build a heaven ON the ground
Not something distant on a cloud
But something real to me
But something real to me

I'm gonna clear out my head
I'm gonna get myself straight
I KNOW it's never too late
To make a brand new start
To make a brand new start
To make a brand new start

I'm back!!!!

Blogging from the PDA is a pain

A business idea!

by Teri_R @ 15. Jul. 2007. - 13:25:01

The lack of broadband has brought out my creative side.
With all the news about binge drinking britons, we are more than ever being advised to drink in moderation.
Being an ex landkady my dream is to own my own pub, and I have the perfect name fir it......MODERATION.....it'll be packed :))

As Arnie says "I'll be back!"

by Teri_R @ 14. Jul. 2007. - 13:01:31

We have no broadband and I am on Lee's PDA in the hope this message gets thru. Very slow on GPRS.
Work no longer allows access to blog or G Mail, so I may be out of touch a while. Be good...
Landers...I'll try to get online for the blogathon
Mama....Keep well
Mon...Tell the bitch to f... off

oh I'm so sad, it's like leaving home

We don't let animals suffer so why let our loved ones???

by Teri_R @ 11. Jul. 2007. - 16:00:53

Oh well, I prepare myself for an onslaught of comments from Pro life, anti euthanasia etc...etc...etc...

I have followed with interest the case, detailed here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/6291224.stm

and am pleased that common sense prevailed, sad though that the distress of the parents was not thought through, when some "do gooder" decided to take this to the GMC.

I have had two babies in neonatal units, and have a relative, and a friend whose babies died in one. What I see here is a genuine case of a doctor doing the best he can, making the inevitable end of these babies lives be less distress as possible.

While this case has been on going, no doubt the doctor has been suspended, probably on full pay, leaving the neonatal unit short staffed and a struggling NHS out of pocket. Surely an initial investigation would have concluded that the parents were fully informed and agreed with what was happening.

It amazes me that we can make the decision to put a loving pet to sleep should they become terminal, yet we have to sit and watch our loved ones suffer for fear of reprisal

I make no apology for my opinion (or typos) it is just that, my opinion!

Nat West are Twats!

by Teri_R @ 09. Jul. 2007. - 16:30:37

Excuse the language, but they are!

Due to pevious financial problems brought about by Lee's business going under, we are deemed unacceptable patrons of a checkbook and switch card, and get by with a basic bank account. Which suits me fine, we spend what we have an no more.

As you will know from a previous blog, I won some money from Mr Sun Bingo and on Thursday Mr R and I treated ourselves to a TV and paid off some bills. On Saturday I went to draw money out to find we were overdrawn 88| One quick assessment of online banking showed every transaction we made on Thursday had been doubled, eating up what money we had left. Of course I spoke to the bank, who advised me there had been a glitch in the system and it was nationwide, this would be rectified on Monday

Monday comes.......and still the same, called the bank again and did I get sympathy  It should be rectified within 48 hours says they!

Imagine if I had caused myself to go overdrawn, they would "steal" £30 sum out of my account in charges. After much yelling, I was offered £25 compensation, which will be paid into my account, which because it is overdrawn I can't touch!

Twats!

The sun has been shining!

by Teri_R @ 07. Jul. 2007. - 18:33:27

What a great day it's been today! The sun has been shining, and despite the wind (erm outside....not mine!) it's been very warm.
Started the day off by visiting mum and returning the shopping my dad had incorrectly bought yesterday! Dad is out for the day with his friends, one of his friends is 50, and his missus has hired a limo which has taken them all to the coast! No doubt he'll be cooking up a storm :))
I went up to Abi's school where my cousin's son was playing in a football gala, was nice to see him play, sadly they didn't win but he scored a cracking goal!
This afternoon has been spent chilling with Lee, watching recorded episodes of The Unit & Sleeper Cell. Lee is on his last shift so I'm looking forward to his two days off!

Last night at awareness was reading sand. The subject put a handprint in sand and we had to see what we got from it. I didn't find it as easy as psychometry but did ok. The person reading mine says I have a split personality....How rude!!! Worst thing, Lee agrees >:XX

Tonight I have decided to do some meditation and try to tune in to spirit alone, I'll let you know how it goes.

Have a great weekend whatever you're doing!

Ouch!

Government help for flood victims...but only some of them!

by Teri_R @ 05. Jul. 2007. - 18:34:55

Hazel Blears, the communities secretary, will visit Hull on Friday. On Thursday she visited Sheffield, which has also been badly hit by the floods.

She said: "There are crisis grants available, there are some community care grants available. We've really got to see now how we can help people through this process.

"It's incredibly traumatic to see your lifetime's possessions ruined and swept away in this way, and we want to help as much as we can."

Mmmmmmm yes there are crisis grants, but only if you are on benefits. Seems the hardworking sector of the great british public will have to get into "more" debt to replace items lost in the flood.

Some people need to be on benefits, but there are a lot more who are nothing but scroungers. Why should they get more help than people who work to earn a pittance living

My son has just said he's leaving home!

by Teri_R @ 04. Jul. 2007. - 22:32:35

His friend is moving into a house and has asked him to share.

Is it wrong to be grinning and planning on how to use his bedroom??????

BBC Reporter released!

by Teri_R @ 04. Jul. 2007. - 08:25:10

From the BBC website

BBC correspondent Alan Johnston has been released by kidnappers in the Gaza Strip after 114 days in captivity.
Mr Johnston, 45, was seen leaving a Gaza City building accompanied by armed men. He said it was "fantastic" to be free after an "appalling experience".

And he described how he had been unable to see the sun for three months, and had once been chained for 24 hours.

Rallies worldwide had called for Mr Johnston's release. An online petition was signed by some 200,000 people.

Mr Johnston's father Graham said he and his wife were "overjoyed" at their son's release.

"It's been 114 days of a living nightmare," he said.

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown also expressed his joy at Mr Johnston's release.

The BBC reporter was handed over to officials of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which controls Gaza, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Pretend Friends?!?!?!

by Teri_R @ 02. Jul. 2007. - 11:29:42

As quoted in BBC News......are we real???

I wouldn't mind being paid £1000 a month to "network". A couple of clients and I could quit the day job!

Read the full story here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6260210.stm

As Facebook continues its explosive growth here's one question troubling me. Are my friends for real?

This week I received this intriguing message from a man who moves in London's new media circles.

He wrote: "I met somebody the other day who told me that online networking was so important, and he didn't have the time, he was paying somebody to be him online. To blog, network, post etc . £1,000 a month too.

"Apparently it's a new occupation which he reckons already numbers hundreds of people, paid to be other people!"

Chemo n Karaoke!

by Teri_R @ 01. Jul. 2007. - 20:41:08

Dad has been told he needs to have chemo, the treatment will involve two days of treatment every 2 weeks and after two lots they will rescan, the chemo will continue until the tumour has shrunk enough to operate. The doctor informed dad he would not be allowed to drink alcohol while on chemo. The treatment starts in 2 weeks. What did my 79 year old dad do? Did he wallow in misery? Did he sit and mope!

Oh no!

Not my dad!

My brother in law went into the local club at 10.30pm on Friday night, he hoped my dad would be in, but thought he may have gone home already. As he entered the club he heard the sound of "last waltz" and there on the stage was my dad! This was his second song and due to public demand, he stayed out till almost midnight and did another song! He was a hit and has promised his groupies (a group of 19 year old girls) that he will be back in two weeks.

Good on you dad!!!!

But a word of warning! Me and mu are going to come down to suss out the competition ;)

I'm going to be rich............NOT!!!!!!!
