Saturday, glad to say goodbye to last week.

by Teri_R @ 09. Sep. 2006. - 20:05:44

To coin a phrase: What a week that was!

Outstanding memories:
Making contact with my brother barry through a clairvoyant audience!
Finally meeting up with friends from school, shame it took the funeral of a friend to get us together.
A STUPID doctor, who made me feel a fraud and totally dismissed the pain I am in, and have been for 6 months
My "ickle" girl dressed up and heading off to comp, coming home a more mature person
A church full of men, singing abide with me and crying at my friends brother's funeral yesterday
All the kind wishes of friends new and old on my birthday.

So tomorrow we start anew, no doubt there'll be new friends to meet. But after the sadness of the funerals this week, I will embrace every experience as though it is my last, one day it will be!

LOL,

My birthday passed in a drunken haze.
Funeral landed at the pub at 11am. I staggered out at 3pm, insisting I was going to return. However once home i was violently sick and spent 2 hours in bed! I got up at 6.00pm and insisted my hubby took me out for promised meal. We went to the local pub, where I demilished Thai Chicken for starter, and then couldn't eat my mani course. I was home and in bed by 9pm!

Oh well, one way to send of an alcoholic, get pissed at his wake!

My hubby found it very amusing as before I was ill I used to get peed regularly, this time didn't take much!

I got some great gifts and have spent today having a girly pamper with my daughter

sounds good to me! glad you're having a good day pampering with daughter! I look forward to my daughter being up for that with me one day - wont be for a while - probably years as she is ensconced in teenage concerns and mum is just far too boring! :(

My eldest called me today, I apprently had a drunken conversation with her yesterday! Abi, is just starting to like gilry things, though not as much as she likes footie and karate!

liking footie and karate sounds good to me. my daughter used to go horseriding, went through a kick boxing phase but now is just a troublesome/troubled teenager but has expressed interest in going to the gym to do weight training...which I think would be a good thing to do. Her most important "hobby" is doing her hair and make up - even for school! Terrible!

LOL

God i can remember when i wouldn't go out of the bedroom at my mum's without make up!
How old is she?

14.......I feel so sorry for her getting ready for school in the morning and doing all that messing about and having to look perfect! I used to crawl out of bed at 8.30, stuff my school uniform on, have coffee and toast and rush off to school - no way would I get up at 6.30 and mess about with goddam hair straighteners ( and her hair is straight anyway!)

I feel sorry for teenagers today, there is so much peer pressure. My eldest was bullied at school because she was seen reading a book on a bus by a gang of girls! This apparently made her a freak.
All we can do is watch, try to guide them and hope they make the right choices.
I was very lucky with my eldest two, Ami was very level headed, and honest about where she went and with whom. Matt has always been a home boy. I think the youngest will be the worst, teenage strops arrived last year, and she will do anything for a laugh!

yes it is really hard for teenagers now. my daughter is really bright but does badly at school - makes no effort - she doesnt want to be a geeky boffin (clever) because of being bullied - as your eldest discovered. It infuriates me.. but as you say, we can only watch and support them. I'm just having to watch her f*** up big time....and its terrible!

and I thought I'd had a stressful week hun, my theory is...what hurts you makes you stronger and there is always a reason behind everything xx
